Northern Flurry Washing Line Card

These are great little cards for using up small scraps of paper left over from other projects.  This is how I made the red one (repeat for green but change colours):

1. Take a 6″ x 6″ white card blank

2. Cut a piece of Real Red card stock to 14 cm x 14 cm and adhered this to the white card base using cosmic shimmer glue.

3. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to 13 cm x 13 cm.  I sponged gently around the outside edge of the card with Real Red but this was a personal choice

4. Emboss the Whisper White card using the Festive Flurry embossing folder and my Big Shot.

5. Used the Banner Blast punch to punch out 7 banners each from a different Christmas themed paper.

6. Cut a piece of red / white bakers twine to 20 cm long

7. Lay the bakers twine across the front of the card with a little slack so that it isn’t stretched across tightly – you want to achieve a washing line effect.  Then adhere what is left of the two ends to the back of the card using double sided tape

8. Use a small amount of cosmic shimmer glue to attach the bakers twine on the front of the card in three small spots just to ensure that it stayed fixed to the card rather than move around.

9. Look at your 7 banners and arrange them in an order that is pleasing to you.

10. Gently lay them over the bakers twine on the front of the card to ensure that you have equal spacing between them.

11. Once you are happy with the layout and spacing take one banner, leaving the others loose on the card.  Attach a dimensional to the back of the banner and then fix onto the card, very slightly overlapping the ‘washing line’ to make it look attached.  Repeat for the other 6 banners.

12.  Attach a coordinating clothes peg to each end of the washing line using silicone glue / glue gun etc – it needs to be something that will form a strong bond.

13. Create a sentiment and attach to the bottom right of the card.
